On Tuesday, new stricter advice came for residents in Jönköping County to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, among other things, they were urged to avoid going to the gym.

At Friskis and Svettis in Jönköping, several measures have been taken.

They have closed showers and saunas, visitors are not allowed to change in the changing room and they have fewer participants in group training.

At the same time, however, Friskis wrote a post on Facebook that they can enable training with them, despite the stricter advice.

Malin Bengnér, an infection control doctor, says that the message about avoiding the gym applies.

- I think this is getting a little crazy, that we do not close down the gym does not mean that it is free to go there, says Malin Bengnér, infection control doctor.

Friskis adjusts the post

After SVT Nyheter Jönköping asked Friskis questions about the post and how they think people can perceive it, Friskis has now adjusted it.

Now you can instead read

"We have agreed with Friskis Riks and Jönköping's infection control unit and have since chosen to be open to enable training for those who have a need"

.

The gym will be open to anyone who needs to exercise for their health.

Frisks has also decided to pause group training indoors.
