In an empty Mayol stadium, Toulon still continued with a thirteenth win in a row at home in all competitions thanks to its success against Brive (35-19), Friday at the opening of the 8th day of the Top 14.

The Var are provisionally in fourth position in the standings, and will try to pocket their first points away from the season next Saturday in Agen.

Brive, for its part, aligns a fourth meeting without scoring points, not very reassuring before the reception of a big piece, the Racing-Metro.

Author of four tries on arrival, the RCT nonetheless delivered a sluggish start to the match.

The Toulonnais were even led, despite the first try scored by the back Gervais Cordin, by the Brivists, thanks to a 100% at the foot of the opener Tedo Abzhandadze.

Toulon ended up accelerating after half an hour of play thanks to his third row Sergio Parisse.

The Italian legend has changed to number 10 to deliver a marvel of passing to the foot.

At the reception, the young winger Erwan Dridi had only to flatten.

Just before the break, the Italian international at 142 caps signed a new gesture of high class with a pass to the ground for Isaia Toeava who in turn sent Erwan Dridi to the test.

The 20-year-old winger, trained at RCT, scored his first two attempts in the Top 14 here.

The CAB was finally rewarded for its efforts after the break.

After a great collective movement launched in their 40 meters, the third line Otar Giorgadze came to flatten in the in-goal.

At 9 points, Brive believed in it again.

After a failed pass from Baptiste Serin, Jeremy Davidson's players missed the boat by pounding the opposing goal line for ten minutes without managing to score a single point.

Toulon ended up getting their hands on the ball and making speak the power of its forwards at the end of the match, rewarded just before the siren by the test of summer rookie second row Thomas Jolmes.

Thanks to his first try in Top 14, Jolmes allows Toulon to snatch the offensive bonus.
