The district Lövgärdet is one of the most recently built areas in Angered and was completed in the 70s.

The new apartments are the first since the area was built.

The new rental apartments in Lövgärdet are a densification of existing property, with estimated occupancy next autumn.

Lövgärdet's square will also be transformed.

With all this, Hampus Magnusson (M), chairman of the building committee in Gothenburg, hopes that they also contribute to a more pleasant and safer district.

- It is an important part of the whole thing, drug sales have taken place here before, but we build here and thus create life and movement, he says.

Urban development must break segregation

The police have previously identified six particularly vulnerable areas within Gothenburg and Lövgärdet is one of them.

To reverse the trend, the municipal Framtiden Group, which brings together the public benefit in Gothenburg, is investing SEK 11 billion.

They will go to large investments in new production and renovation in Bergsjön, Biskopsgården, Hammarkullen, Hjällbo, Lövgärdet and Tynnered.

This has been planned for five years.

Away with the particularly vulnerable areas by 2025 - will you succeed in this?

- We will do everything to make it so, says Hampus Magnusson (M).
