A man who threatened to behead a candidate for the

, who is also a history and geography professor, was sentenced by the Versailles criminal court to 18 months in prison, six of which were suspended, accompanied by 'a warrant of committal,

The defendant, an unemployed engineer, aged 30 and originally, had threatened Laurent, a 49-year-old professor with death on social networks, first via Instagram and then on Facebook.

"I'm going to behead you, it's a history and geography teacher trick", he wrote to him in particular, referring to the assassination of Samuel Paty after showing caricatures of Mohammed.

In the box, the man expressed regret, claiming to have been "too far", while suggesting that the
