An extremely rare accident.
The Bordeaux firefighters intervened Thursday evening around 11:30 pm in the town of Talence, for carbon monoxide poisoning caused by the burning of incense.
According to firefighters, a family living in an apartment on the sixth floor of an apartment building would have burned incense in (very) large quantities in an apartment without ventilation.
The 41-year-old woman and the 39-year-old man were transported in a mild condition to Pellegrin hospital in Bordeaux, however their 13-year-old son was evacuated in serious condition to the pediatric hospital.
The firefighters point out that the combustions that generate the most carbon monoxide are slow combustions, like a barbecue.
