China News Service, Sanming, Fujian, November 6 (Zheng Jiangluo) The 16th Cross-Strait (Sanming) Forestry Expo and Investment and Trade Fair (hereinafter referred to as the "Lin Expo") organizing committee disclosed on November 6 that The Expo implemented 103 signed contract projects with a total investment of 21.783 billion yuan.
On the same day, the current Forest Expo opened in Sanming City, Fujian Province, using forests as a bridge to promote cross-strait economic and trade exchanges and cooperation.
According to the organizing committee, 11 Taiwanese (foreign)-funded projects have been signed at this year's Forestry Expo, with a total investment of US$211 million, and the contract uses US$138.6 million in Taiwanese (foreign) investment.
At the signing ceremony of the project concentration, Zhonglin Group Holdings Co., Ltd. and China Development Bank Fujian Branch signed a cooperation agreement of intent. The China Development Bank provided 5 billion yuan of financial support for Zhonglin Group Holdings Co., Ltd. to carry out national reserves in Sanming City. The construction of forest projects, forest health and maintenance and related forestry industry projects has contributed to the high-quality development of Sanming's forestry.
Lin Xinglu, secretary of the Sanming Municipal Party Committee, said that Sanming is rich in forest resources, with a forest coverage rate of 78.73%, making it the greenest city in Fujian, the greenest province in China.
In the past three years, the number of days that Sanming’s urban air quality meets the standard has been among the top in Fujian Province.
Three obvious ecological advantages are gradually turning into economic advantages, attracting more and more domestic and foreign businessmen to invest and start businesses.
At the signing ceremony, a number of eco-economic projects were signed successively, including the Fujian Qingliu Yongcheng Ecological Cycle Agricultural Industrialization Construction Project and the Jiangle Annual Production of 60,000 Tons of Pulp Molded New Environmental Products Construction Project, with a total investment of 4.45 billion yuan.
In 2005, Sanming was approved to establish the only cross-strait modern forestry cooperation experimental zone in the mainland.
As a landmark project in the experimental zone and a demonstration window for exchanges and cooperation with Taiwan, the Cross-Strait Forestry Expo will subsequently land in Sanming. In the past three sessions, 328 projects have been signed with a total investment of 64.1 billion yuan, becoming an important platform for cross-strait exchanges and cooperation.
