Friday, November 6, 60,486 new cases of Covid-19 contamination were identified in France in 24 hours.

A "minimum" figure, specifies Public Health France, because of difficulties related to a computer traffic jam which disrupts the counting of new cases.

The epidemic killed 405 in hospital in 24 hours (against 367 Thursday), and since Tuesday, 423 people have died in medico-social establishments, including nursing homes.

The new coronavirus has caused 39,865 deaths since the start of the epidemic.

The number of serious hospitalized cases also continues to climb: 4,321 patients are currently in intensive care units (100 more than the day before), which admitted 434 new patients in 24 hours.

Over the last seven days, 19,825 new hospitalizations were recorded, including 2,948 in intensive care.

For several days, data on new contaminations has been incomplete and underestimated, due to a computer "incident", caused by the "huge" volume of tests being carried out at this time, the health agency explained.

"There was a plug" at the level of the AP-HP, whose servers centralize the data sent by all the laboratories in France before redirecting them to Public Health France, "and therefore we have not received all the tests transmitted by the AP-HP ", explained Friday an official of the health agency during an online press briefing.

These difficulties, "in the process of being resolved", complicate the analysis of the evolution of the epidemic, a week after the entry into force of the confinement, to which the government has made adjustments in the hope of an improvement.
