In recent weeks, the number of corona infections in Sörmland has increased.

And the infection control doctor Singar Mäkitalo has previously flagged that there may be stricter general advice for the county.

On Thursday, the news came that Sörmland and Kronoberg will receive stricter advice.

- The number of hospital admissions is increasing and this afternoon we had five people in the intensive care unit, says Signar Mäkitalo, the infection control doctor in Sörmland, at the Public Health Agency's press conference.

Parties should be canceled

The new advice means that you should avoid physical contact with other people than those you live with, which means that you should refrain from arranging or participating in parties and similar social gatherings.

The advice also means that the people of Sörmland should refrain from staying in indoor environments such as shops, bathhouses, museums and gyms.

You should also avoid participating in meetings, concerts and sports training (with the exception of sports training for children under 15 years)

Audience limit

In addition to the tightened general guidelines, the local audience limit is once again lowered.

- We have decided not to allow more than 50 participants at events.

It is also important that stores and other businesses do everything they can to minimize the spread of infection.

This applies from now and three weeks ahead, says Beatrice Ask, governor of Sörmland.

The advice is valid from today, Thursday 5 November, until 26 November, but may be extended.
