  • A car in the colors of La Poste was parked in front of an office in downtown Lille.

  • Despite the confinement, the astonishing car did not fail to attract the curious.

  • However, we will not soon see postal workers delivering mail in such cars.

Fast and factor.

This Thursday, at the end of the morning, it was a shining Porsche screen printed in the colors of La Poste which was parked in place of the usual trucks filled with parcels and letters in front of the post office located on rue Pierre-Mauroy, in Lille.

The racing car did not fail to attract attention and arouse curiosity.

What was the project?

It is well known that Internet purchases and deliveries have exploded in these times of containment due to the coronavirus epidemic.

However, has La Poste's turnover soared to such an extent that the company has decided to equip its letter carriers with luxury vehicles for their rounds?

The idea could have appealed to the main stakeholders, however, it is not.

A publicity stunt, but not from La Poste

Moreover, it is not about any communication operation of the historical mail operator.

The vehicle in question, a Porsche 911 4S, belongs to a Lille garage specializing in the sale of prestigious used vehicles.

“We wanted to do a little publicity stunt, a funny wink in these rather gloomy times,” recognizes Anthony Desnerck, associate manager of 4Sautomobiles.

For him, it is not even a question of selling her, his beautiful German of 450 horses which costs nearly 140,000 euros.

Because, in his branch, business continues to turn.

“People who had money before the crisis still have it today.

We still sell cars, except that with confinement, this is done more remotely, ”continues the manager.

The garage chose La Poste to make its buzz simply because the color of the car, "Racing yellow", matched.

“We just added the logos which will of course be removed before the vehicle is sold,” laughs Anthony Desnerck.

His garage had already done a similar blow, but with a Renault Alpine screen printed in the colors of the Gendarmerie.

"With the agreement of the authorities", would like to clarify the mechanic.
