More than seven million Swedes are now covered by special councils due to the pandemic.

And in nine Swedish regions there is a rapidly increasing spread of covid-19.

This is stated in the County Administrative Boards' latest report, which was published on 3 November.

In it you can read about a continued increase in infected, that the number of people who need care in hospitals is increasing and that several counties have covid infection in one or some of their special housing.

Stefan Löfven is worried

Yesterday, Tuesday, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven held a press conference where he described the situation as very serious:

- More and more intensive care units are used to care for patients with severe covid disease.

There is also much to suggest that the number of deaths will increase.

The County Administrative Boards' report confirms that the situation is serious.

In Jönköping, the number of cases has increased by 220 percent

In Stockholm County, the number of cases of covid-19 has almost doubled since last week and there is a large increase in the number of hospitalized people.

The increase occurs in all age groups, but most clearly it is in the group 20 to 39 years and then 10 to 19 years.

Norrbotten reports that the county has an escalating spread of infection.

Here, too, the number of cases of covid-19 has almost doubled since the week before.

Clear increase in the number of hospitalized.

In Jönköping, the number of cases has increased by 220 percent in the past week.

The number of hospitalized patients has increased for a few weeks and the region has gone up in staff mode.

Strained situation for business

Several counties state that it is a very strained situation for the business community and point to the need for support measures and temporary compensation for those who are negatively affected by the extended restrictions.

Continued short-term layoffs are being considered as a possible measure, as the limit of nine months is approaching.

In Västerbotten, the situation for cultural and association life is described as unsustainable due to the long period of lost income and national support is being appealed for.

The county administrative boards are also calling for a longer advance if it is the case that the stricter general guidelines will be extended.
