A man in his forties was tried on Tuesday in immediate appearance before the Rennes criminal court for apologizing for terrorism.

According to

Ouest-France

, the individual would have made terrorist threats on Saturday afternoon in the hall of Rennes train station, shouting in particular "Allahou Akbar, strongly the next attacks".

These threats came two days after the attack which left three dead in the Notre-Dame basilica in Nice.

During his custody, the police discovered that the individual had already been the subject of several handrails since 2016 for apologizing for terrorism.

During the hearing, his lawyer pleaded for release, referring in particular to the psychiatric history of his client.

The court finally sentenced him to one year in prison, including eight months with a probationary sentence.
