04 November 2020Successful operation for Diego Armando Maradona, who underwent surgery in Argentina to remove a subdural hematoma.

The Clarin newspaper reports that everything went well, even if the doctors stress that the Pibe de Oro will still need several days of hospitalization to complete the course.

The surgery was carried out at the Olivos Clinic in La Plata.



According to Argentine television TyC Sports, the operation to remove a clot from the brain took place "in better conditions than planned. It lasted an hour and a half".

Now the former champion of Barcelona and Naples "is preparing for convalescence at the Olivos Clinic".

Even Maradona's former partner, Veronica Ojeda, confirmed the success of the operation, leaving the clinic. 



Diego Armando Maradona, 60, in 1986 won the World Cup with Argentina and is considered one of the greatest footballers of all time.

He had last appeared in public last week, on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday.

Dozens of fans gathered in front of the clinic, waving flags and signs with messages of support for the Pibe de Oro.
