The Swedish Transport Administration says that the water must sink away before you know how serious the damage to the roads is.

- We hope to have a sum on the damage soon, but at present we do not have it, says Louise Dahlberg, unit manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.

Affected electricity customers

The power companies are still working to get the electricity networks in order.

On Wednesday, Umeå Energi has 70 powerless customers.

Skellefteå Kraft has helicopters in the air that inspect overhead lines.

- What we know today is that we will pay a total of at least SEK 200,000 in interruption compensation to about 200 affected customers who were without power for more than twelve hours, says Elin Ala, press officer at Skellefteå Kraft.

Millions

Umeå with surrounding municipalities affected seems to have been worst affected by the autumn storm.

According to Christer Nygren, the municipality's street and water manager, the emergency work effort in Umeå cost just over half a million.

In total, he believes that the storm will cost millions.

Big costs in the future

The municipal water and waste company Vakin reckons that the large costs will come in maybe a year.

- When individual households via their insurance companies come up with their compensation claims, says Johan Sjödin, communicator Vakin.
