Two weeks ago, the hospitals in Kronoberg County went up in staff mode due to the number of people needing care for Covid-19 increasing.

The staff situation remains and since the number of inpatients is between 15 to 20 patients every day, the health service needs to prepare.

Strained mode

- We have arranged so you have two covid units at the hospital in Växjö to prepare the care.

It is under control but it is a strained situation, says Roger Olof Nilsson.

The units that are now opening were used in the spring when the spread of covid-19 gained momentum.

During the summer, when the number of infected people decreased, the covid units could be closed.

The number who need intensive care for the coronavirus now fluctuates between one to three patients per day in Kronoberg.

- I appeal to everyone to take this seriously, we do not want a situation like the one that was in the spring, says Roger Olof Nilsson.
