The President of the Special Assize Court of Paris announced orally that the trial of the January 2015 attacks would be suspended until at least November 12.

Régis de Jorna, had already announced on the night of Sunday to Monday the suspension of the hearing for "at least a week" after three defendants tested positive for Covid-19 during the weekend, including the main defendant, Ali Riza Polat.

The other seven defendants appearing in detention before the special assize court have tested negative, but a second wave of tests is scheduled for Thursday for some.

The resumption of the trial is particularly conditional on the results of these tests.

The hearing schedule will be turned upside down.

Before this suspension, the end of the pleadings of the civil parties was scheduled for Wednesday, preceding the indictment and the defense pleadings.

The verdict was expected on November 13.

A historic trial that has lasted for two months already

Fourteen people, including three by default, have been on trial since September 2 for their alleged logistical support to the perpetrators of the attacks against Charlie Hebdo, a municipal policewoman in Montrouge and the Hyper Cacher store in Vincennes.

These attacks killed 17 people and caused an international shock wave.

For more than two months, nearly 150 witnesses and experts have taken the stand for this historic trial.

Filmed for the archives of justice, a first in terms of terrorism, it is held under very high police surveillance.
