Ruler of Umm Al Quwain: We celebrate the state’s flag being raised high to remain lofty, reinforcing national belonging and unity of ranks
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, affirmed that our celebration of Flag Day today is a celebration of the assumption of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and in response to the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Chairman of the Council Ministers and Ruler of Dubai, launched by His Highness in 2013.
His Highness indicated that we all celebrate today, the leadership and the people, raising the state’s flag high so that it remains lofty, reinforcing national belonging, unity of ranks and cohesion, supported by the protection of the arms of loyal heroes who offer dear and precious things to defend their vigor, safety and stability, and to preserve their achievements, so that the flag remains a symbol of the state’s sovereignty and unity throughout the ages.
His Highness said that our celebration of this precious national occasion is a remembrance of the founding leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his fellow rulers - may God have mercy on them - who raised the Union flag for the first time in 1971 and explored the future since the beginning of the Union and the start of a civilizational and human renaissance on this good land and a civilized renaissance. A lofty humanity covering all fields, to top global indicators in economic, humanitarian and scientific development.
His Highness the Ruler of Umm Al Quwain added, and today, as we celebrate this national symbol, we renew the covenant and loyalty to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and we continue together the march of goodness, giving, achievements and uniqueness in the world scientifically and culturally with the hands of the people of the nation, and the flag of the Emirates will remain a whirlwind from which we derive strength, determination and sincerity For the homeland and its leadership.
