US President Donald Trump has shown confidence in his re-election to a second term in the White House, while the latest opinion polls have shown the superiority of his Democratic rival, Joe Biden.

During his participation in a campaign rally, Trump questioned poll results that show Biden's progress in a number of swing states, and described these polls as fake.

"I'm watching false opinion polls ... Tomorrow (today), we will anyway win 4 more years in the White House," Trump told supporters in Fayetteville, North Carolina, at his first of five gathering on the final day of the campaign.

The US President announced that he intends to take legal action in the event that the vote counting processes are delayed in a number of states, criticizing the Supreme Court’s decision to allow the counting of votes that reach the counting centers after the third of this month.

Trump said - in a speech to reporters while leaving North Carolina - that he will go to a number of states with his attorney as soon as the polls close, and will not leave the vote counting processes for Democratic state governors.

The Axios website quoted informed sources as saying that Trump informed those close to him of his intention to announce his early victory on the evening of November 3, if there were indications of his progress over his Democratic rival, Joe Biden, and added that he would not allow the elections to be stolen from him, as happened with other people.

Democratic candidate Biden responded to those reports to reporters in Philadelphia that Trump would not be able to steal the election.

Biden urged his supporters to vote massively and put an end to what he described as the policy of partition that US President Donald Trump has worked on since the beginning of his term.

Biden added - during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania - that Americans will choose hope over fear, and truth over lies.

In reference to the statements made by his Republican rival regarding the epidemic Corona virus situation in the country.

Hours before the polls opened, the number of those who cast ballots by mail, and in early voting, crossed the threshold of 95 million.

In some crucial states, the number of voters exceeded the total number of voters who cast ballots in the 2016 election.

The early voting took place amid objections that amounted to appeals, especially from the Republican Party, to nullify some of them and not count the votes that arrive after Election Day, which indicates major legal disputes.

Surveys

The latest American opinion polls showed Biden ahead of his Republican rival, nationally and in a number of swing states.

A poll conducted by YOUGOV showed Biden’s national lead by 10 points, and 53% of those polled said they would vote for him, compared to 43% for Trump.

In Pennsylvania, the "Monmouth" poll showed Biden a 7-point lead, with 51% of voters saying they would vote for the Democratic candidate, compared to 44% for his Republican rival.

In a Morning Consult poll in Michigan, Biden was 8 points ahead of his rival Trump, as 52% of respondents said they would vote for Biden, while 44% said she would vote for Trump.

Another poll conducted by "Morning Consult" in the state of Texas, showed equal chances of the two candidates, and each got 48% approval.

In Florida - according to the same poll - Biden leads by 6 points, and 51% of voters said they would vote for him, compared to 45% for Trump.

In contrast, Trump leads in Ohio, according to the "Morning Consult" poll, by 3 points, and 49% of respondents said they would vote for Trump, compared to 46% for Biden.

Elections start

Today is the official election day, as it begins in the afternoon, a month after early elections.

Businesses have shuttered their showcases across central Washington, in anticipation of unrest.

NBC News reported that a new "non-climbable" fence had been planned around the White House, surrounded by increasing layers of fortifications since the summer anti-racism protests.

While the Trump administration warned of left-wing extremists causing chaos, supporters of the president displayed force, drove convoys of flag-laden pickup trucks, and blocked numerous roads across the country.

For his part, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenny called for patience and calm on the eve of the election.

Kenny assured voters that the elections would be free and fair, despite Trump's claims of possible fraud in Pennsylvania, in which he won with only 44,000 votes in 2016, and winning the main state is important for his re-election.

Twitter

In the same context, Twitter announced Monday that it will place a warning sign on any tweet posted by a candidate for the presidential elections or one of their campaigns, and other influential accounts that try to announce victory before the official results are announced, and the user will also be transferred to the official election page.

The company will be relied upon as a source to announce the results of election officials, or the expectations of at least two reliable media outlets, including "CNN", "Associated Press" (AP), and "ABC" (ABC) ).

"From election night until the presidential inauguration, we will classify some tweets that contain allegations about the election results," Twitter said in a blog.

It added that it will remove tweets that encourage violence or call for people to interfere in the election results or the voting process.

For its part, the British betting company Ladbrokes Coral said that speculators preferred to announce the results of the US presidential elections on Wednesday.
