Frenchman Alassane Pléa was the man of the match on Tuesday in Kiev, with a hat-trick and an assist in Mönchengladbach's 6-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

The 27-year-old striker opened the counter for his team in the 8th minute of a lightning recovery of the right (1-0).

He doubled his bet with a superb shot from the skylight in the 26th minute (3-0), and tripled it in the 78th (6-0), served well in the back of the defense at the limit of the out- play by fellow international hopeful Marcus Thuram, who weighed heavily on the Ukrainian defense all evening.

Meanwhile, Pléa had served Lars Stindl for the 5th goal (65th).

Borussia, who led 2-0 against Real Madrid last week until the 87th minute, before conceding two goals in the final minutes, find themselves provisionally alone at the top of Group B with 5 points, ahead of Donetsk ( 4 pts).

At 9:00 p.m., Real Madrid (1 pt) receives Inter Milan (2 pts) in a match that already looks like a chopper match for qualification in the round of 16.
