The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, chaired the 18th meeting of the Committee of Ministers concerned with housing affairs in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which was held virtually yesterday, chaired by the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Engineer Suhail bin Muhammad Al Mazrouei, and in the presence of the Ministers of Population and officials in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Al Mazrouei stressed that the housing sector in the UAE is working to meet the needs of citizens for quality government housing.

During the meeting, he announced the names of the winners of the Gulf Cooperation Council award in the field of housing that were awarded in this session from the UAE, where they won the first place in Saudi Arabia for the project “Planning and Designing a Sustainable Residential Neighborhood in Wadi Al-Dawasir - Al Wadi Park”, while Kuwait ranked second for the project "South Sabah Al-Ahmad City", and the UAE came in third place in the "Sa`ir Rural Area Planning" project.

Al Mazrouei said: “We in the UAE work according to a comprehensive development perspective based on uniting the efforts of all parties related to the housing sector to meet the needs of citizens of quality government housing in all the emirates of the country on one level, by designing ambitious initiatives and plans of action capable of continuing the march. Achievements, passing smoothly and powerfully for the next fifty years of excellence and global leadership, and we are also working to develop the housing system according to the latest building and sustainability standards, taking advantage of the applications of the fourth industrial revolution in the field of construction, such as artificial intelligence, the use of robots and building with 3D printing technology.

He pointed out that the UAE, with the directives of the leadership, is keen to build smart future cities with distinct facilities, relying on sustainability, green buildings and solutions to preserve the environment, which contributes to supporting the system of sustainable development and enhances the economic position of the country, which is taking rapid steps to cross the next fifty years in a capable way, and to achieve global leadership. By 2071 centenary, through specific initiatives and projects that keep pace with the government's direction.
