The child of a citizen (12 years old) died, and two other children (13 years and 11 years old) were injured, after an accident involving the derailment and deterioration of a vehicle that he was driving (one of the injured), without a driver’s license, last Thursday evening, in the Al Ghayl area of Ras Al Khaimah.
The Director General of Central Operations in Ras Al Khaimah Police, Brigadier General Dr. Muhammad Saeed Al-Hamidi, said, “The operation room received a report at 8:30 p.m. last Thursday about the deviation and deterioration of a vehicle on an unpaved road, which lacks lighting in the Al-Ghail area in the southern regions of Ras Al-Khaimah. What resulted in the death of a 12-year-old citizen’s child.
He explained that upon receiving the report, police patrols and a national ambulance were sent to the site of the accident, where it became clear that the vehicle that was driving one of the three children had deteriorated after it suddenly veered from its lane, resulting in the death of a child, the driver was seriously injured, and the third child was injured. Minor, and massive material damage to the vehicle.
He explained, “Immediately, the body of the deceased and the injured were transferred to the Al Dhaid Governmental Hospital of the Emirate of Sharjah, where the driver was admitted to the intensive care unit, and appropriate treatment was provided to the other injured who left the hospital, and the body of the deceased was delivered to his relatives for burial ceremonies according to Followed assets ».
He said: “Parents must fulfill their responsibilities towards their children, and not allow them to drive vehicles before obtaining driving licenses that qualify them to deal well with the vehicle, and familiarity with the arts and principles of driving it, in order to prevent the recurrence of unfortunate traffic accidents that claim innocent lives.”
He continued: “They must follow up on their children, and take care of their safety and their lives from the dangers of traffic accidents that represent a real danger that lurks them, in addition to the fact that driving a vehicle without obtaining a license is an explicit violation of traffic regulations, and exposes the perpetrator to legal accountability, and the penalties and procedures that follow from them. It is signed against him ».
