Recently, a strong earthquake occurred in the Aegean Sea, affecting parts of Greece and Turkey.

The death toll in Turkey currently exceeds 40. 

  According to reports, on October 23, local time, a strong earthquake occurred in the Aegean Sea area. Subsequently, hundreds of aftershocks occurred in the area, with at least 33 aftershocks with magnitudes exceeding 4.0.

  According to data from the Turkish emergency agency quoted by the TASS news agency, the death toll from the earthquake in western Turkey has increased to 43 and 896 injured.

  According to previous reports, the earthquake caused severe damage to the Turkish province of Izmir and the Greek island of Samos, and a large number of buildings were damaged.

The strong earthquake also triggered small tsunamis in Izmir and Samos.

The streets of Vati, the main port town of Samos, were flooded by sea.

  Turkey and Greece said the magnitude was 6.6.

The earthquakes are obvious in Athens, Greece and Istanbul, Turkey.
