With three goals scored in four minutes in the first period, Monaco easily beat Bordeaux (4-0), Sunday at the Stade Louis-II during the 9th day of L1, in a duel of disappointing teams at the start of the season.

This clear and deserved victory allows the Monegasques, led by a very good duo Wissam Ben Yedder-Kevin Volland in attack, to stop their bad streak (one point taken in three matches).

With 14 points, they are certainly still four lengths from the podium.

But the ghosts of the first period against Lyon at Parc OL (0-4 after 45 minutes) were swept away.

This time, it was Bordeaux which took the water.

The Girondins showed nothing to Louis-II, neither in the first period nor in the second, despite three changes at the break.

Renowned solid in defense so far, with 5 goals conceded before this trip to the Principality, Jean-Louis Gasset's men, with Hatem Ben Arfa tenured center-forward, had an illusion for half an hour.

Before sinking.

To see his team return to victory, Monaco coach Niko Kovac changed his tactical system, and therefore placed Volland in support of Ben Yedder in a 4-4-2, with Sofiane Diop and Gelson Martins responsible for leading the sides.

Gradually, the machine started.

On a cross from left side Caio Henrique, Ben Yedder thought he had scored with a header.

But the referee Mr. Buquet had previously whistled a hand fault from Pablo (26th).

The French international therefore returned the cover and scored, this time from a penalty spot (1-0, 28th), his sixth goal of the season, a realization of the top scorer Kylian Mbappé.

High pressure, intensity in the races, intelligence of movement: all the ingredients have been put to master the match.

To this was added a great efficiency.

And two minutes after opening the mark, the heavy pressing on Adli paid off.

The other Monegasque side, Ruben Aguilar, centered perfectly for Gelson Martins' first goal this season (2-0, 30th).

KO standing, the Bordelais have completely let go in stride.

Volland victoriously headed a good cross from Ben Yedder (3-0, 31st).

The second period saw no Gironde reaction.

Monaco managed and evolved against.

Only one of them has come to an end.

Ben Yedder carried out a very high level oriented control to serve Gelson Martins, who centered for Volland, for his double (4-0, 58th).

All under the eyes of the only spectator of the meeting, Prince Albert, delighted by the awakening of the Red and White ...

From now on, they will have to demonstrate that this reaction is not just a flash in the pan.

The Monegasques move next Sunday to the neighbor and rival Nice.

Le Gym, which will have played in the Europa League in Prague on Thursday evening, is also buoyed by a positive dynamic despite the worrying injury of its captain Dante in the 3-0 victory at Angers.

The opportunity for Niko Kovac to gauge his team, against a European opponent, and in principle more solid than these Girondins ...
