The quake, whose magnitude was rated at 7 on the Richter scale by the American Institute of Geophysics (Usgs) and 6.6 by the Turkish authorities, occurred on Friday afternoon in the Aegean Sea, southwest of Izmir, the third largest city. largest than Turkey, and near the Greek island of Samos, rescuers continue to dig under the rubble of eight collapsed buildings in Bayrakli, the most affected Turkish city.
