The site guard tried to rescue him.

In vain.

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, a person, whose sex and identity are not yet known, died in Saint-Martin-d'Hères, in Isère, after being electrocuted by a high voltage line.

For some unknown reason, the victim was on an electricity pylon at around 1:30 a.m., behind the Total refining plant, when she was struck by an electric arc from the high-voltage line, reports

The Dauphiné Libéré.

Hit by a 63,000 volt discharge, the person caught fire.

The site security guard tried to help her, using a fire extinguisher, but when help arrived, she was dead and charred.

An investigation has been opened to find her identity and try to determine under what circumstances she climbed this pylon, putting her life in danger.
