The referendum on the pros and cons of the so-called "Osaka Metropolis Plan," which abolishes Osaka City and reorganizes it into four special wards, is approaching November 1st.

Five years later, the so-called "Osaka Metropolis Plan" abolished the government-designated city of Osaka on January 1, 1945, and 4 of "Yodogawa Ward," "Kita Ward," "Chuo Ward," and "Tennoji Ward." It is going to be reorganized into two special wards.

The referendum for voters in Osaka City is approaching November 1st, and both pros and cons continue to appeal in downtown areas and residential areas of Osaka City.

Among the supporters, Mayor Matsui of Osaka City, who is the representative of the Osaka Restoration Association, said, "In order to cut off the miserable situation of the past when the Osaka City Hall and the Osaka Prefectural Government were in conflict, we will clarify the division of roles as a system. Is the Osaka Metropolis Plan. I want you to build up new forms of Osaka one by one for the next generation. "

Among the opponents, Kitano, the secretary general of the Liberal Democratic Party's Osaka City Council, said, "If the majority agree, Osaka City as an ordinance-designated city will really disappear from the world. It can achieve both economic growth and enrichment of life. I am convinced that this is the strength of the ordinance-designated city. Let's protect Osaka city with the hands of the citizens. "

In this referendum, it will be possible to campaign for "agreement" and "disagreement" even on the day of the election.

On the other hand, about 360,000 voters have completed early voting in the 18 days up to the 30th, which is more than 60,000 more than the same period of the previous referendum five years ago.

Voting takes place from 7 am to 8 pm on the 1st and is counted the same day.
