"On October 31, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, detailing the situation resulting from ... the military aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh and the existing challenges," the republic's Foreign Ministry quoted Interfax as saying.

It is noted that Pashinyan appealed to Putin with a request "to begin urgent consultations to determine the type and amount of assistance that Russia can provide to Armenia to ensure security, based on allied relations between Armenia and Russia."

Earlier in Geneva, the meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Jeyhun Bayramov on the issue of settlement in Nagorno-Karabakh ended.

Following the talks in Geneva, Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed not to strike at the civilian population and non-military facilities in the conflict zone in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as provide a list of prisoners for possible exchange.
