The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "As a result of investigating the current status of the damage against Korean citizens' organizations and businesses, it has been confirmed that there has been no damage to the Korean people" regarding the earthquake of magnitude 7.0 in the waters near Turkey and Greece.



According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are 1 Korean residents in Samoa, Greece, where the earthquake is severely damaged, 200 in Izmir, Turkey, and 5 Koreans in Kusadasi.



The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "We are calling on the local Korean people to be cautious to prevent additional damage caused by aftershocks, etc. through the website of the Embassy of the Republic of Greece and the Embassy of Turkey and through posting on social media safety notices."



He said, "We will keep in close contact with the Korean community, continue to understand the situation of further damage and provide necessary consular assistance."



On the 30th local time, a 7.0-scale earthquake occurred in the waters near Samos Island, Greece, killing at least 26 people and wounding 804, according to foreign media.
