This came during His Highness inspecting the progress of work on the Shindagha Corridor project, which is one of the largest projects currently being implemented by the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, and extends from Sheikh Rashid Street through Al Mina Street and Al Khaleej Street to Cairo Street, with a length of 13 km, where he was briefed on what It was completed in the Al Shindagha Bridge (Infinity) project, which is a unique architectural landmark that is added to the cultural landmarks in Dubai and meets the requirements of the surrounding large development projects.

Upon his arrival at Al Ghubaiba Marine Transport Station, His Highness was received by the Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, Matar Mohammed Al Tayer, where His Highness and his companions boarded the "Dubai Ferry" ferry, as part of a tour of the Dubai Creek, during which His Highness paused on the progress of work in The bridge, which is 295 meters long, consists of six lanes in each direction, in addition to a pedestrian and bicycle crossing three meters wide, and its capacity is estimated at 12,000 vehicles per hour in one direction, and the bridge rises 15.5 meters above the level of the Dubai Creek, including Various types of sailing ships are allowed to pass in the waters of the Creek.

The Al Shindagha Bridge is distinguished by the presence of the architectural arch in the form of the infinity sign, which is above the bridge crossing vehicles with a height of 42 meters at the top of the arch, and its construction requires the use of 2,400 tons of iron.

The project includes the provision of transportation integration elements, which include the installation of two large pedestrian and bicycle elevators before and after the Al Shindagha Bridge (infinity), and the implementation of three pedestrian bridges that include shared pedestrian and bicycle paths, including a bridge currently under construction on Al Khaleej Street, and two bridges that will be implemented in the future on Sheikh Street. His Highness was briefed on the details of the project, where two phases were completed, including the development of the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Street with Oud Metha Street (Wafi Interchange), and the development of the intersection of Sheikh Rashid and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street, and work is underway to implement the third phase, which includes the implementation of the Shindagha Bridge and the development of Corniche Street, the intersections on Al Khaleej Street, and the development of Al Saqr Interchange. Last August, the authority opened the bridges leading to the entrances and exits of Deira Islands at Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Street.

Al Tayer explained that the future plans for the Shindagha Corridor project include the implementation of the fourth phase, which includes the development of Al Khaleej Street and the intersection of Al Khaleej Street with Abu Hail Street, and the development of the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Street with Jumeirah Street, Al Mina Street and Al Mankhool Street, and this phase is expected to be completed at the end of 2025, and it also includes The plan is to implement the fifth phase, which includes the implementation of bridges leading to Deira Islands from the south, and the length of the bridges is estimated at 1.5 km, and this phase is expected to be completed in 2027.

He added: “With regard to the metal arc, a system of insulation and protection against rust and adhesion of aquatic organisms has been provided for the part in contact with the water surface, and this system allows the cleaning and maintenance of parts of the metal arc in contact with the water surface, which extends its life. The upper part of the metal arc is also provided with a system Rustproof coating and protection ».

It should be noted that the Roads and Transport Authority has used unique structural elements and systems in the implementation of the Shindagha Bridge, to ensure its protection and sustainability, including the construction of structural bases and columns at a depth of 40 meters below the level of the base located one meter below the level of the bottom of the creek, and the provision of a high-density polyethylene insulation protection system. (HDPE Liner) for the base and part of the pillars in the water of the creek, in addition to providing protection for the bridge poles from the navigation movement in the creek, with insulation materials, and with a protection system against rust and corrosion that works efficiently for 20 years
