- At a meeting with us traders, we thought it looked so boring with all the empty shop windows, so we told the municipality that something should be done.

After that came the offer that we would get a sign in some of the premises without paying any rent, we think it was very generous, says Lisbeth Stolt, who runs a flower shop outside Ödeshög.

"A win-win situation for everyone"

The fact that business premises are empty in the city center is a widespread problem in many places.

The advantage in Ödeshög is that the relevant premises are owned by the municipal real estate company, so the idea of lending shop windows could therefore be realized quickly.

- We were worried about how the retailers in the center would react, but they were only positive.

They realize that it benefits everyone if the shop windows are lit up and create a nicer environment.

It is a "win-win situation" for everyone, says Heléne Njord-Westerling, business manager in Ödeshög.

- Everyone is positive that we have lent shop windows to entrepreneurs who are not here in the center, says Heléne Njord-Westerling, business manager in Ödeshög.
