The Supreme Committee for Covid-19 Crisis Management announced the formation of the National Committee for Management and Governance of the COVID-19 Pandemic Recovery Phase, headed by the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al-Jaber.

The committee's mandate includes developing the strategic plan and performance indicators for the post-"Covid-19" stage, identifying and adopting operational indicators for the targeted sectors, measuring the performance of the work of the authorities concerned with the return to normalcy, electronic linking of digital indicators and statistics, and identifying the financial and economic factors necessary to support the recovery phase, in addition to To any other tasks or specializations assigned to it.

While the committee is working on preparing the strategic plan, the focus will be on taking advantage of the strengths and competitive advantages of the UAE, and enhancing these advantages, especially in important and vital sectors that are in line with national priorities, and include ensuring the security and sustainability of vital areas, such as food, water, energy and pharmaceutical industries. In addition to identifying promising sectors that have great future growth opportunities in the post-Covid-19 era, and include advanced technology that enables digital transformation, such as artificial intelligence, fifth generation technology, health care, communications, infrastructure, supply chains and logistics, it is added. In addition to enhancing the local added value, and working to meet the local demand through local content, in a way that supports the small and medium enterprises sector.

The UAE is at the forefront of the Arab countries in dealing with "Covid-19", as it ranks first in the Arab world and 37 globally, according to the classification of the "Horizon" Research Center.
