“A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Russia (negligence) on the fact of ignition of oxygen cylinders in the back room of a medical institution in Chelyabinsk,” the ministry said in a statement.

According to the Investigative Committee, on the morning of October 31, there was a "fire and pop" of oxygen cylinders, which were in the back room of the clinic.

Earlier it was reported that the explosion of the oxygen booth occurred in the clinic of the city hospital No. 2 in Chelyabinsk.

Because of the fire, 150 people were evacuated.

The city has declared an emergency situation at the municipal level.

The governor of the region, Alexei Teksler, instructed to check all the oxygen equipment of medical institutions in the Chelyabinsk region.
