Thousands of Palestinians demonstrated today, after Friday prayers, in the Al-Aqsa Mosque in support of the Prophet Muhammad, may peace and blessings be upon him, and to condemn the position of French President Emmanuel Macron against Islam, and chanted slogans in support of the Prophet Muhammad, including "With the soul and blood we sacrificed you, Muhammad," and "A nation whose leader Muhammad will not kneel God is great, and our leader is forever, our master Muhammad.

They also chanted slogans against President Macron, including "Macron, stick to your limits (stick to your boundaries)."

During the Friday sermon, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, the preacher of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, condemned the offensive cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad and Macron's anti-Islam statements, and said that "the French president has declared his hostility to Muslims around the world, and he is responsible for the repercussions."

The Israeli police tightened their measures to limit the access of Palestinian residents of the West Bank to Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform Friday prayers.

The police also pursued the participants in the march after its completion, and arrested one of them in addition to a photojournalist, according to eyewitnesses.

Witnesses reported that fist-clashes broke out between demonstrators and the Israeli police in the Bab al-Majles area (one of the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque), when they tried to prevent police officers from arresting young men who participated in the march.

A wave of anger and condemnation continues to escalate and sweep across the Arab and Islamic worlds, in response to the continuing French insult to Islam, after the publication of pictures and cartoons insulting to the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, on the facades of some buildings.
