The specialist noted that this is "not a fight against the channel personally, it is a politicized process aimed at discrediting the Russian Federation as a whole abroad."

Twitter had previously noted RT's coverage of the US presidential election as misleading by disabling the ability to retweet and replay the post.

The company said the tweet contains "controversial content that may be misleading about how you can participate in an election or other civic event."
