The Egyptian short film "Stacher: I am afraid to forget your face" won the gold award in the mini-version of the Cannes Film Festival, after competing in 11 short films.

Yesterday, Thursday, the official page of the festival announced the victory of the Egyptian film, through a publication saying, "We congratulate the Egyptian director Sameh Alaa on winning the Palme d'Or today for his short film," I'm afraid to forget your face. "

This was not the first prize the film received this October;

It won the Best Film Award at the Moscow Short Film Festival and the Namur Film Festival in Belgium, and is currently participating in the Egyptian El Gouna Film Festival.

The film revolves around 15 minutes, about a 16-year-old young man trying to return to his girlfriend after a separation that lasted 82 days, and the film was filmed in just two days in the popular Sakakini neighborhood in Cairo.

The film is directed by Sameh Alaa and is produced by an Egyptian, French and Belgian producer. It is the first Egyptian film to participate in the short fictional films competition at the "Cannes" festival. This film is the second by the director who presented his short feature film "Khamastacher" 3 years ago, which won several local awards.

The Cannes Festival administration decided to cancel the official competition for feature films this year due to the Corona pandemic last June, and announced a mini-version of the festival for the short feature films competition this month.
