Following the announcement of the tightened advice in, among other places, Västra Götaland yesterday, the sports associations in Halland are now waiting for more information on how they will be affected.

An association that has already decided to follow the same restrictions that now apply to the neighbor to the north is the handball club Särökometerna.

There are now training sessions and matches for all born in 2004 or later canceled until further notice.

- Most of our matches are still against teams from Gothenburg, so as for the matches, there is really no major change, says Anders Höglund, who works at Särökometerna's office.

Waiting for recommendations

Handbollsförbundet Väst has not yet issued any recommendations, but that, together with what Region Halland may decide, is what the club is waiting for now.

For those born in 2005 or later, the training and matches now continue as usual - with the exception of girls 07, who have been hit hard.

- They would have an extra training week now during the autumn holidays, but it had to be canceled, because several of the players come from a school in Billdal that has had several cases of covid-19.

A player in the team has also contracted a fever, but we do not know if it is covid, says Anders Höglund.

Aranäs is waiting

The neighboring club Aranäs in Kungsbacka has also been affected, by canceling the men's a-team match against Alingsås in the highest league tonight.

In Alingsås, cases of covid-19 have been found, and thus the match is postponed to the future.

In other respects, however, the business will continue as usual for the time being.

- We follow the handball association's and the region's restrictions, so so far we have not introduced any new rules, says Johan Falk at Aranäs.

However, Aranäs is also affected indirectly, in that most matches are against teams in Västra Götaland.

The club is following the development, and will have a new meeting already this afternoon.

- We have not really had time to take a position on the new situation yet.

But like everyone else, we are prepared to move forward with restrictions, says Johan Falk.
