The authorities of the Russian capital, Moscow, said yesterday that citizens who want to be vaccinated against "Covid-19" disease may be able to do so next month, if large quantities of vaccine doses are available at the time, at a time when Russia recorded a record increase in new daily cases of infection. It exceeded 18 thousand.

Russian news agencies quoted the deputy mayor of Moscow, Anastasia Rakova, as saying that Moscow is establishing a large network of specialized vaccination rooms, adding that 2,500 people at risk of infection, primarily doctors and teachers, have already received the vaccine.

Yesterday, in an interview with Russia 24, Rakova said that mass vaccination is not yet possible, given that the required number of vaccine doses has not been received, and added that she believes that this may happen next month.

Russia faces a challenge related to increasing the production of its vaccine, as President Vladimir Putin indicated, on Thursday, problems related to the availability of equipment and tools.

Russia has registered two vaccines, the first is "Sputnik V", and the second is "Epivac Corona."

On the other hand, the Kremlin said there is a shortage of doctors as the number of cases rises.
