Updated data in Italy and in the world

The rise of the Coronavirus infection curve

in Italy

does not stop.

There are 31,084 new cases and 199 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Yesterday the increase in cases was 26,831, 217 deaths and 201,452 swabs.

Iss: Italy towards scenario 4, rapid deterioration

The epidemic in Italy is "rapidly worsening" and still compatible with a type 3 scenario but evolving towards a type 4 scenario. It should be noted that in some Italian regions the transmission speed is already compatible with a scenario 4 with risk health services in the short term.

A situation is therefore confirmed "overall and widely very serious on the national territory with the risk of important short-term criticalities in numerous Italian Regions / PAs".

This was revealed by the weekly monitoring Iss-Ministry of Health.

High risk for 11 regions

There are 11 regions classified at high risk of an uncontrolled transmission of SARSCoV-2 and 4 regions (Calabria, Emilia Romagna, Lombardy, Piedmont) plus the province of Bolzano are in the scenario 4. Of the 11 regions, 5 are considered high risk as a precaution but the data is not reliable because surveillance is insufficient at the time of the assessment.

Another 8 Regions and Autonomous Provinces are classified as moderate risk with a high probability of progressing to high risk in the next month.

Those at high risk are Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Liguria, Lombardy, Piedmont, Puglia, Sicily, Tuscany, Valle d'Aosta and Veneto.
