“From Monday 2 to Saturday 7 November, lessons will be suspended in order to give the teaching teams time to get organized.

While confinement came into effect Thursday evening and universities have been asked to switch to distance learning, the Nantes establishment is not fully ready.

In a message sent to students on Thursday, President Carine Bernault announced her choice to trivialize classes next week.

Then, they will be dispensed online "and this at least until the beginning of December", she confirms.

As for the exams, Prime Minister Jean Castex said Thursday evening that they will be held "with a reinforced protocol".

Sanitary protocol

At the start of the school year, the University of Nantes had implemented a strict health protocol, which included leaving an empty space between each student and the distribution of 30,000 masks to scholarship students.

According to the latest assessment drawn up by management, the situation was "under control".

“As of October 20, the university had 272 positive cases since the start of the academic year, with an incidence rate, compared to the size of the university population, at 236”, indicates the establishment's website.
