magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurred in the Aegean Sea between the west coast of Turkey and the Greek island of Samos. A major building collapsed and a tsunami hit, killing 14 people and injuring nearly 500 people.

Under the rubble of a collapsed building, a hand asking for help is seen, and rescuers dig through the rubble with their bare hands.



Citizens who have managed to get rescued raise their hands as if they were okay.



A 7.0-scale earthquake occurred in the Aegean Sea between the west coast of Turkey and the Greek island of Samos, yesterday (30th) at about 3pm local time.



In Izmir, the closest city to the epicenter in western Turkey, more than 10 buildings were destroyed.

To date, at least 12 people have died and nearly 500 people have been injured.



Overnight rescue work is underway on the collapsed pile of buildings, so casualties are likely to increase.



A tsunami hit the nearby island of Samos, Greece.



Two teenagers died as the walls of some buildings collapsed, and four were moved to a hospital for treatment.



The Turkish and Greek governments said they exchanged calls over each other and said they would work together to reduce the damage.
