- Islamists want our future.

At nine o'clock in the morning, a lone perpetrator attacks with a knife at several people at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Nice.

Three people are killed, one man and two women.

The perpetrator, a 21-year-old Tunisian, was shot by police and taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Macron calls the incident a terrorist attack and has raised the level of terrorist threats to the highest possible.

Several countries condemn the act, including Turkey.

Anti-terror prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard is leading the investigation, describing the attack as an act of terrorism.

A few hours after the stabbing in Nice, a guard was attacked at the French consulate in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

The perpetrator was arrested at the scene.

The guard's injuries should not be life-threatening.
