- Here we have a situation which means that serious criminals can go free and that innocent people may have been convicted because no evidence has been presented.

I think this appears to be very legally uncertain, says Johan Forssell (M).

SVT Nyheter has been able to report that large amounts of incompletely analyzed DNA traces are hidden in the freezer at the National Forensic Center, NFC.

Tracks that could contribute to trapping or freeing in criminal cases.

Wants to ask questions in committee

The reason is that NFC has a limit value, a stop for DNA samples: if the DNA content in, for example, a blood stain is below this limit, NFC generally does not perform further analysis.

- If you then opt out of central evidence, I do not think it appears to be particularly effective or legally certain.

The only reasonable conclusion now is that we can call the head of NFC to the Riksdag's Justice Committee so that we can get answers to these questions, says Johan Forssell.

What do you want to ask the NFC boss?

- That is why they have this limit value when it is obviously possible to obtain information on the same samples in other countries.
