The mayor also added that the attacker shouted religious phrases, and one of the victims is a priest.

Estrosi said that all the circumstances of the incident indicate that the attack is a terrorist act.

On the evening of October 16, in a suburb of Paris, a young man beheaded a teacher, the attacker was shot dead by the police. French President Emmanuel Macron called the murder a terrorist attack.
