October 29, 2020 "We are preparing for the battle over Rome. We must be ready to face the worst scenario, always with the hope that it will not happen".

This was stated by the regional councilor for health, Alessio D'Amato, in an interview in Corriere della Sera.

"I don't want to be anxious, but I can't be comforting either. I have to be realistic and say things as they are- added D'Amato- It is true that we are keeping respect to other realities such as Lombardy, Veneto and Campania, even if our hospital network is under great stress. But everything will depend on the cooling of the epidemiological curve ".

D'Amato then explained that Lazio "is gearing up to face a further important increase in the epidemiological curve, completing the reorganization of the hospital network and creating 120 beds a day. The Policlinico Umberto I, together with Spallanzani and Columbus, will be the heart of the battle ".

When asked if the Lazio Region is considering the lockdown hypothesis, D'Amato replied: "For the moment no".
