But Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux is also a practicing Catholic and attached to the "family moment" that Christmas represents.

Beyond the economic aspect (Christmas being a period of intense consumption), "the Christmas party is, I believe, a very strong moment for all French people, whatever their faith", defends Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux.

"So I don't know what the government will decide, I am not a doctor or a scientist, and I also believe that the contamination figures on December 20, it is difficult to predict them today, but I think that 'it will be necessary to leave a family parenthesis of a few days, if only for the psychological state of our fellow citizens ", defends Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux.

The closure of businesses, "a mistake"

The president of Medef also denounced the "error" which he said represented the closure of non-essential businesses during confinement.

"The fact of closing the shops, in no way responsible for the contamination, is a mistake", denounces the business leader.

And to continue: "We need these traders, because there are more than three million jobs behind and they risk going bankrupt because they are very weakened."
