question: Why O'Brien has repeatedly speculation, "China stole vaccine" lie?

  Author: Wei Silan

The US President’s National Security Affairs Assistant O’Brien recently accused China of “using cyber espionage activities to steal the results of US, British, and European companies on the development of new crown vaccines and the treatment of new crown pneumonia", which has caused criticism in the public opinion.

This is not the first time O'Brien has made such irresponsible remarks.

In May of this year, he said in an interview that the United States will be the first country in the world capable of producing a new coronavirus vaccine, and China is "stealing" related research results from the United States.

A few days ago, O'Brien did not hesitate to "overweight" lies when attending the Atlantic Future Forum, and expanded the targets of China's "steal" from the United States to the entire Europe, in an attempt to arouse empathy among European allies.

  But, is this the truth?

No.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, China has always supported countries in their fight against the epidemic in various ways and supported countries in their economic and social recovery and development activities.

In terms of vaccine research and development, China has always fulfilled its commitment to become a global public product after the vaccine is successfully developed and put into use.

At present, China's independent research and development of new crown vaccines is in a leading position in the world. Four vaccines have entered phase III clinical trials in many countries, and all countries have spoken highly of China's vaccine research and development.

China supports countries to strengthen information sharing on the new crown pneumonia epidemic, exchange useful experience and practices in prevention and control, and carry out international cooperation in areas such as vaccine drug research and development.

Not only that, China has also joined the "New Coronary Pneumonia Vaccine Implementation Plan" to ensure that people all over the world, especially people in developing countries, have fair access to vaccines.

In addition, for the common well-being of all mankind, China has repeatedly provided cash assistance to the WHO and promised to provide US$2 billion in international assistance within two years.

It can be seen that, as a country with effective epidemic prevention and control and leading vaccine research and development, China has no reason to go to war and steal.

O'Brien's words to smear China are self-defeating in the face of the truth.

So, here comes the question: Since there is no factual basis, why does O'Brien repeatedly hype the "China stealing vaccine" lies?

In short, this is due to the inertia of "the ass determines the head," and it is also a manifestation of the loss of American political face.

O'Brien launched an unprovoked attack on China, intending to get rid of the responsibility of the current US government's ineffective fight against the epidemic.

As the National Security Affairs Assistant to the President of the United States, he must resolutely implement the White House’s strategy of “turning off” China on the epidemic and actively cooperate with the entire government to exert pressure on China.

At home, he tried to smear and slander China and seek political benefits for the owner of the White House; outside, he tried his best to win over allies in an attempt to build an anti-China small circle.

He was therefore classified as "a small group of Washington politicians" by the outside world.

O'Brien's series of ridiculous and unreasonable statements not only reflect his serious ideological prejudice against China, but also reflect his narrow-minded concept of "vaccine nationalism".

Especially when China made important progress in vaccine research and development, O'Brien unconsciously "jumped".

Using the vaccine issue to "find the fault" for China will neither help alleviate the suffering of the American people, nor consolidate the global effort to fight the epidemic. It can be described as "no benefit at all."

I would advise O'Brien to listen carefully to the rational voices of the international community, look at China and the Communist Party of China objectively, stop playing the same old tune, and stop concocting all kinds of slanderous speeches against China.
