The Outbreak Management Team (OMT) expects that a negative travel advice will apply to trips abroad during the Christmas holidays, writes
Het Parool
.
The OMT is the government's most important advisory body during the corona crisis.
The OMT expects a negative advice to travel abroad, if the risk of contamination does not change significantly this winter.
According to
Het Parool
, the OMT would
write in the
latest advice
that in the summer months "many hundreds" of people with a corona infection returned to the Netherlands - mostly young people.
At the time, only a quarter of the holidaymakers traveled to an area designated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with code orange.
In winter, the OMT expects a similar risk: it foresees that it will be difficult in many places to keep the desired 1.5 meters distance, such as at busy catering establishments and queues for the ski lift during a winter sports holiday.
