Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced on Wednesday the dissolution of the Barakacity association, questioned for alleged links with terrorist movements and facts of online harassment.

Gérald Darmanin says he has undertaken "a war against the enemies of the Republic" since the assassination of Samuel Paty.

The procedure initiated the day after the assassination of teacher Samuel Paty was successful.

The BarakaCity association was dissolved on Wednesday in the Council of Ministers, accused by the government of "relations within the radical Islamist movement" and of "taking pleasure in justifying terrorist acts", announced Gérald Darmanin in a tweet.

A series of measures

This NGO, chaired by Driss Yemmou, said Idriss Sihamedi, "incited hatred, maintained relations within the radical Islamist movement, took pleasure in justifying terrorist acts", argued the Minister of the Interior, who had called for its dissolution.

The decree dissolving the association specifies: "via the personal Twitter account of its president as well as the association's Facebook and Twitter accounts, it disseminates and invites the dissemination of hateful, discriminatory and violent ideas" .

The text also indicates that "Islamist propaganda" material was found at Driss Yemmou's home, as well as a magazine produced by an organ dependent on the Islamic State.

The BarakaCity association was dissolved in the Council of Ministers this morning.

As detailed in the decree that I presented, it incited hatred, maintained relations within the radical Islamist movement, took pleasure in justifying terrorist acts.

For Darmanin, the CCIF "an Islamist pharmacy" which works "against the Republic"

Following the assassination of Samuel Paty, Gérald Darmanin promised "a war against the enemies of the Republic" and launched a series of operations targeting the Islamist movement.

In addition to the dissolution of Barakacity, he had ensured the temporary closure of the Pantin mosque.

The government has also dissolved the pro-Palestinian collective Cheikh Yassine founded by Islamist activist Abdelhakim Sefrioui, indicted for "complicity in a terrorist assassination" in the investigation into the Yvelines attack.

Gérald Darmanin also wants the dissolution of the Collective against Islamophobia in France (CCIF), considering that it is in reality "an Islamist pharmacy" which works "against the Republic".
