Dijon signed its fifth victory in as many games in the French Men's Basketball Championship, winning Tuesday against Châlons-Reims (87-72) in a match postponed from Day 3, and temporarily seized the top of the ranking.

Despite the absence of their coach, Laurent Legname, tested positive for Covid-19, and replaced on the bench by his assistant Frédéric Wiscart-Goetz, the Burgundians led in the score throughout the meeting.

Thanks to a well-oiled collective, the pivot Alexandre Chassang (22 points), top scorer of the meeting, notably benefited from the offerings of the American leader David Holston (11 assists).

Despite their lack of skill (5 out of 21 to 3 points), the Champenois, who had just gleaned their first success of the season on Saturday (87-84 on the floor of Le Mans), never gave up.

Through Jalen Adams, top scorer in the championship at the start of the season (24 points), Châlons-Reims even came back to six points in the middle of the last quarter.

But the JDA, which took 3rd place in the Champions League (3rd European level) in early October, raised its level of play to finish with a 15-point gap.

Another undefeated team this season, Boulogne-Levallois signed their fourth victory on Monday night by winning on their floor against Limoges (82-76).
