More than 500 thousand new infections with the new Corona virus were recorded in the world, the day before yesterday, in a new record, according to an AFP census based on data from the health authorities, while the Robert Koch Institute recorded the highest number of new infections in Germany.
In detail, a total of 516 thousand and 898 new injuries and 7,723 deaths were counted.
The increase in the number of infections is partly explained by the increase in examinations since the first pandemic wave in March and April.
This comes at a time when the German Robert Koch Institute for Disease Control recorded the highest number of new cases of the emerging coronavirus in Germany within 24 hours since the start of the pandemic.
The institute announced in its report yesterday, that the number of new daily infections reached 14,964 cases.
However, current values can only be compared restrictively with those recorded during the past spring, because significantly more tests are now being performed, and thus more infections are being discovered.
The number of new infections recorded on Wednesday before last reached 7595. Germany recorded the second highest level of injuries since the start of the pandemic last Saturday, with 14,714 new cases.
The total number of new infections with the Coronavirus since the start of the pandemic in Germany until yesterday morning reached 464,239 cases, and deaths due to infection with the virus rose to 10 thousand and 183 cases, an increase of 85 cases compared to the first of yesterday, Tuesday.
The number of injuries per 100,000 people in the past seven days in Germany, as of this morning, reached 93.6.
A week ago (October 21), the institute recorded an infection rate of 51.5 cases per 100,000 people.
According to the institute, about 70% of regions in Germany recorded more than 50 cases per 100,000 people, and more than 200 cases in eight regions.
In turn, the German Minister of Health, Jens Young, warned of the increased burden on the health system in Germany due to difficult cases of infection with the emerging corona virus.
"If the intensive care units are full, this means that it is too late," the minister said, in statements to Southwest German Radio, yesterday, indicating that the number of patients with (Corona) who receive treatment in intensive care units has clearly increased recently, and he said: "The situation today is still at a manageable level," adding, "On the other hand, it is better now to break this wave."
And in New York, Bloomberg News reported, the day before yesterday, that the state's governor, Andrew Como, seeks to keep 95% of the United States population out of his state, with the spread of the Corona virus across the country.
"Bloomberg" said that Cuomo added, yesterday, the most populous state in the United States, to a list of 39 states whose residents must undergo a 14-day quarantine if they visit New York.
Meanwhile, Massachusetts joins three other neighboring states that are technically eligible for quarantine.
As of Tuesday evening, the United States recorded a total of eight million 773 thousand and 407 cases of Coronavirus, in addition to 226 thousand and 604 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The governor of New York State seeks to exclude 95% of the US population from his state due to the Corona virus.
