China News Service, Tianjin, October 28 (Zhang Kaixin and Sun Hengye) The sea breeze is blowing along the Bohai Bay.

In Tianjin Port, container quay cranes lift the containers and place them firmly on the freighter on the shore of the wharf.

On October 27th, the media interview group of the "2020 Fingertip Cities" network theme event organized by China News Network walked into Tianjin Port to explore the port's unmanned automation construction empowered by the "smart brain".

Many unmanned container trucks drive in sequence according to the predetermined trajectory; after automatic packing, they are transported to the container ground intelligent unlocking station; in the unlocking station, multiple robotic arms are working on the container lock... All this is in front of the reporter. The scene of unmanned automated operation on the port terminal.

The unmanned automated terminal is an important symbol of today's global smart port construction.

From a global perspective, there are two paths for the construction of unmanned automated container terminals: new terminals and traditional terminals.

The transformation of traditional container terminals has the advantages of low cost and short construction period, but there is no successful technology to follow in global ports.

Liu Jieqiang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Tianjin Port Container Terminal Co., Ltd., stated that Tianjin Port, as a traditional container terminal, successfully realized the full process of unmanned automatic transformation of the traditional container terminal on October 17 this year.

How to realize unmanned automatic whole-process operation?

"The key is to have a complete management system that organically combines container trucks, quay cranes, unlocking stations, etc., and controls and deploys them under a single brain." Liu Jieqiang introduced that Tianjin Port uses the Container Operation Task Integrated Management System (ETMS). Independent operation control units such as unmanned container trucks, automatic unlocking stations, and remote controlled quay cranes are connected in series to realize a set of system control and management of the entire unmanned automatic operation system, and build a stable and efficient unmanned automatic control system.

In the live interview, "precision" was the first keyword introduced by Liu Jieqiang.

In the construction of automatic driving of container trucks, Tianjin Port has perfected centimeter-level precise positioning through the integrated application of Beidou satellite positioning, 5G communication, and nanowave radar.

In addition, in the container ground intelligent unlocking station, the fully automated operations of automatic vehicle positioning, box scanning, lock type selection, and robot unlocking are realized. 3D visual recognition and positioning devices are used. The recognition speed is reduced from 6s to 3s, and the recognition rate is up to More than 95%, improve efficiency by more than 10%.

"When unmanned operations are implemented in this area, it will be safer." During the interview, Liu Jieqiang emphasized the word "safety" many times.

In traditional container terminals, the work of driving container trucks and installing locks are all manual operations by workers.

On the one hand, the labor intensity of workers is high; on the other hand, there are certain hidden safety hazards in the operation under the quay crane; thirdly, due to the limitation of human power, some problems are difficult to solve in a short time.

After the realization of unmanned automatic operation, not only the labor cost is reduced, but the safety of the workers is guaranteed.

"Because (container trucks) are fully electric, they are also greener and more environmentally friendly." Liu Jieqiang further introduced that environmental protection has become an important concept in the construction of Tianjin Port.

Since the establishment of Tianjin Port Container Terminal Co., Ltd., it has successively implemented oil-to-electricity conversion from yards and bridges, automatic power-on of yards and bridges, ship shore-based power supply systems, and construction of safety monitoring centers, vigorously promote the application of clean energy and green lighting, and create environmentally friendly, low-carbon, and environmentally friendly The new pattern of green development.

Take the North District of Tianjin Port Container Terminal Co., Ltd. as an example. The traditional manual container terminal is transformed and upgraded to an unmanned automated container terminal. Compared with the newly built automated container terminal, the cost is saved by more than 70%, and the comprehensive energy consumption per container is reduced by more than 20%. Operating costs are reduced by more than 10%, which not only leads in wisdom, but also highlights the green economy.

It is understood that Tianjin Port is an important modern comprehensive port in China and a large artificial deep-water port in the world, maintaining trade relations with more than 800 ports in more than 200 countries and regions in the world.

In the first three quarters of this year, Tianjin Port Group completed a total container throughput of 13.765 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%.

The accumulated cargo throughput was 336 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%.

Accuracy, efficiency, safety, environmental protection... Tianjin Port delivered this answer in the world's first unmanned automation transformation of a traditional wharf.

In the next step, Tianjin Port will continue to accelerate the upgrading of smart ports, play the role of a hub port, and serve the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
